About Me
Seminole, Florida's Berg Institute of Health & Wellness was created by Dr. Eric Berg, DC, The Knowledge Doc, in 1997. The mission of the Institute is to educate the public about proper nutrition, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and the consequences of dietary inadequacies.
By teaching individuals how to take charge of their health, Dr. Berg helps them lose weight the healthy way on the ketogenic diet and with the help of intermittent fasting.
Dr. Berg began his scientific studies in nutrition shortly after graduating from chiropractic college in 1988. His drive sprang from a curiosity about the causes of his food-related health problems.
Now, Dr. Eric Berg educates his students on various health-related topics. He is an expert in breaking down complicated health issues, identifying their underlying causes, and developing nutritional plans for recovery. Long-term intermittent fasting and the healthy keto diet he popularized are now widely regarded as key aspects of achieving exceptional health.
Disseminating His Expertise
After experiencing a dramatic improvement in his health thanks to the knowledge he gained from studying the science of nutrition more thoroughly, Dr. Berg decided to devote his time not only to practicing chiropractic but also to sharing his methods with other doctors, eventually becoming an associate professor at Howard University.
The 7 Principles of Fat Burning, his book launched in 2006, was revised in 2019 as The Healthy Keto Diet and is currently a #1 Amazon best seller thanks to the author's incorporation of the latest scientific findings.
His YouTube channel has more than 6,000 videos, 18 million subscribers, and 100 million views each month, all of which he has used to spread his message on healthy eating and other health-related issues. To help teach Keto Coaches worldwide, he has developed a course that delves into the science behind keto and intermittent fasting.
Putting individuals in charge of their health is central to Dr. Berg's work.

Activities and Interests
Dr. Eric Berg's dedication to health permeates all aspects of his life, including his leisure activities. To paraphrase, "I am continuously seeking for fundamental causes why individuals develop ailments; it has become a pastime of mine." He overcame the negative impacts of being "the meat and potatoes child" by working too hard and eating too much, which sparked his enthusiasm.
When he was 32, he gained the nutritional knowledge that restored his vitality and allowed him to keep up with his busy wife Karen and their three energetic children.
For Eric, downtime is as precious as gold. His hand-built guitar and his partnership with Karen in the kitchen, where they regularly put out tasty dishes with a focus on health, serve as both a source of creative energy and relaxation for him.
Dr. Eric Berg has recently relocated to a picturesque farm, where he is researching the soil to develop methods for producing food and livestock that are both high in nutrients. Karen acknowledges that the origin of everything in the kitchen is the ground.
